Guidelines
Preamble
You
may be relatively new to family history research or you may have years
of experience. You may have learned to undertake your research by
reading books, visiting and writing to repositories BCI (before
computers and the internet) when
the information you needed often took weeks to be delivered to your letterbox – or you may have only
recently discovered the joys of genealogy and enjoy locating information on the internet.
Ideally, your research methods are a
combination of both. Entries
are welcomed from all family history researchers, regardless of how
long you have been researching.
Objective
To
participate in this year’s topic,
a good description of the person or family you researched must be
provided,
including the
methods you used in your research, with explanations of why you needed a particular record
and how you located it
– with all sources
stated, of course.
